Shaylene Googoo | Coordinator – C.A.S.T.

As Communities Addressing Suicide Together (CAST) Coordinator, Shaylene Googoo works with communities across the province to build and strengthen their capacity by supporting them with suicide prevention training, education, training and resources.

In addition to her role at CMHA NS, Shaylene has the honour and privilege of living in an Indigenous community which gives her the experience and knowledge to support that rural communities that are struggling.

Shaylene is a strong advocate for those living in rural communities and is well-equipped to support them with their mental health journey.

Shaylene draws her education, career, and her own lived experience to support others on their mental health journey.  

When not working, Shaylene enjoys hiking, spending quality time with family & friends, and practicing cultural activities such as hunting.
