We also can offer virtual, hybrid, or in-person information sessions with PowerPoint presentations.

These include:

Understanding our Mental Health: Participants will learn about the difference between mental health and mental illness, the social determinants of mental health, the continuum of mental health, and develop self-awareness around their own states of mind (75 minutes).

Communication Skills for Psychological Safety: Participants will be offered guidelines around communicating with their colleagues in a way that promotes mental safety and supports wellness (30 minutes).

Introduction to Psychological Health and Safety Standards: This session provides an overview of the national voluntary Psychological Health and Safety Standards and guidance on how organizations can begin implementation (1 hour).

Burnout, Boundaries, and Self-Care: This module is a combination of PowerPoint presentations and interactive group work. Throughout, participants explore the concept of burnout – what it means and how it occurs – as well as strategies to prevent it, such as boundary setting and self-care (45 minutes).

Community Suicide Awareness: This session provides an overview of some of the myths surrounding suicide, indicators that someone may be at risk, and the importance of being able to talk about suicide, which is critical to prevention (75 minutes).

Introduction to Peer Support 1 & 2: The first session provides an overview of peer support, including defining peer support, the spectrum of peer support models, the process of recovery, and the basics of active listening skills and supportive communication. The second session explores the basics of group facilitation, including the role of peer facilitators, how to share our stories safely, how to practice self-care as facilitators, the basics of trauma-informed facilitation, and what kind of training is available for those interested in developing their skills around peer support (1 hour each session, 2 hours total).
