Join us in celebrating our volunteers

From April 14 to 20, the Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division celebrates National Volunteer Week, a nationwide annual initiative to recognize and celebrate the impact of volunteers.

The theme, Every Moment Matters, highlights the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make at a moment when we need support more than ever.

As the world faces mounting challenges, volunteers are often the first to help. Volunteers are at the forefront in crises and emergencies, often in very testing and dire situations.

The Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division has 24 volunteers spread out across the province. This includes our Board of Directors. Our volunteers contribute more than time. They bring skills, empathy, and creativity.

Their collective efforts help CMHA NS Division ensure that more Nova Scotians get the support they need to be well and stay well.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for giving their time, energy and support!

Why Volunteer

Volunteering is a fundamental act of good citizenship. It’s also essential in our society. Studies show that regular volunteer activity can have a positive effect on mental and physical health.

Volunteering provides the opportunity to build skills, learn more about mental health and meet new people, while helping build a more caring community. Learn More.
