CMHA NS partners with CASP on 33rd Annual National Suicide Prevention Conference

The conference takes place between May 10 and May 12 at the Atlantica Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

From May 10-12, 2023 ,The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP) will be hosting its 33rd Annual Suicide Prevention Conference, at the Atlantica Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The conference showcases the most current knowledge and practices in the broad field of suicide and its prevention, and attracts researchers, front-line clinicians, people with lived experience, and sector professionals, throughout Canada. With support from local partner, Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division (CMHA NS), and major daily sponsors,LivingWorks and the Mental Health Commission (MHCC), the National Suicide Prevention Conference is the premiere Canadian event for exchanging knowledge on suicide prevention, intervention, postvention, and life promotion,not to be missed!
The National Suicide Prevention Conference –“All Walks of Life” provides a forum for diverse perspectives,including researchers, front-line clinicians, people impacted by suicide, and First Peoples’ teachings,and will provide plenary and break-out sessions covering five streams such as Indigenous/Life Promotion, People with Lived Experience, Populations, Occupations, and Research & Trends.
A pre-conference Healing Day coordinated and hosted by CASP’s People Impacted by Suicide Working Group is also taking place on May 9 for people impacted by a suicide loss, suicide-related thoughts or behaviors, or support someone who is struggling with thoughts or attempts, as well as family members, friends, clinicians, researchers, or a person who struggles with suicidality.
Healing Day will provide workshops, sessions, and interactive activities that introduce new tools and resources to support life promotion, hope, and healing.
