ASIST training in Cape Breton this month

The Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division [CMHA NS] is proud to offer Livingworks’ Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training [ASIST] training in Cape Breton in June, 2023.

This workshop will be held in person over two days on June 27 and June 28, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

This ASIST Training session is one of series being held across the province this year at a subsidized rate of $62.77 per person to individuals and organizations for whom the regular ASIST fees are a barrier.

Details:

The regular cost of ASIST training is $275 per person. We are able to offer this ASIST Training to communities and organizations for whom the regular fees at this lower rate thanks to the generosity of the Canadian Red Cross.

Additional Details:

ASIST is a 2-day intensive, interactive and practice-dominated course designed to help individuals recognize the risk of suicide, and learn how to intervene to prevent the risk of suicidal thoughts from becoming suicidal behaviours. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop — ASIST can be learned and used by anyone.
