Request for Expressions of Interest

The Canadian Mental Health Associations of Nova Scotia (CMHA – NS) are seeking Expressions of Interest for a a highly skilled consultant to facilitate and guide the development and implementation of a new provincial model that will help align CMHA-NS Division and the provincial branches.
This initiative is crucial for strengthening capacity of CMHA to enhance and grow the mental health services provided to Nova Scotians.
Background: In September 2024, CMHA Division and CMHA Branches agreed to explore a new model to optimize operational capacity and service delivery across Nova Scotia. This model aims to improve efficiency, coordinate efforts, and enhance resource allocation in response to increasing demand for services and programs.
Scope of Work:
- Lead and facilitate the development and implementation process of establishing a new model for CMHA to deliver its services across Nova Scotia.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize capacity in operations and service delivery.
- Coordinate efforts to ensure efficient resource allocation and improved service delivery.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to governance body consisting of CMHA Nova Scotia Division and Branches.
Project Budget: $50,000-$60,000
Timeframe: August 1, 2025 – July 31, 2026
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in project management, group facilitation, and evaluation, preferably in the non-profit or mental health sector.
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills.
- Experience in managing complex projects with multiple and diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of CMHA, and experience with federated nonprofit governance models.
- Knowledge of integrated fundraising and collaborative business models.
- Demonstrated experience in culturally responsive engagement and communications.
Submission Requirements: Interested consultants are invited to submit their expression of interest, of up to six pages including:
- A cover letter outlining relevant experience and approach to the project.
- A detailed resume or CV.
- Examples of previous work or case studies demonstrating areas of expertise.
- Contact information for at least two professional references.
