New THRIVE workshops kick off January 16

The Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division is thrilled to kick off the new year with our January THRIVE workshops!

Looking to set healthier goals, embrace gratitude, or better understand compassion fatigue? THRIVE workshops are here to support you with practical tools, empowering skills, and a warm, welcoming community.

What is THRIVE?
THRIVE is a free virtual learning centre that helps Nova Scotians build skills to promote and support their mental health. It’s accessible, inclusive, and designed with you in mind.

No clinical referral needed
No diagnosis required
Fully virtual – join from anywhere!

Our workshops are a chance to connect, learn, and take meaningful steps toward better mental well-being. Let’s grow stronger together—because when we support one another, we all THRIVE.

Check out our calendar and register today!

Mindful Goal Setting | January 16, 2025 | 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Are your goals stressing you out more than inspiring you? While setting goals can drive meaningful change, aiming too high can sometimes trigger a spiral of self-criticism when we inevitably fall short. So how do we set goals that inspire action without the pressure of perfectionism? Join facilitator Ashley Burns for an insightful session on creating goals that stick—goals that energize you rather than overwhelm you. Register HERE

Understanding Compassion Fatigue | January 20, 2025 | 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Compassion fatigue can affect anyone—whether you’re a caregiver, a helping professional, or someone supporting loved ones. This workshop offers an opportunity for community members to better understand compassion fatigue and how to navigate it. Register HERE

Gratitude | January 23, 2025 | 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

In this workshop we will examine some research about gratitude and consider ways we can slow ourselves down and bring our attention to the good things in our lives. Register HERE

Switching focus – Negative to Positive | January 31 | 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

In this session we will examine at what a negative mind looks and feels like, and how, with some work and determination we can begin to switch and adopt a more positive outlook. Register HERE

Donate to THRIVE

As a not-for-profit charitable organization, we rely on the generosity of those who give what they can to keep our programs running and remain accessible. Donations to THRIVE allow us to offer these workshops completely free of charge.

By supporting THRIVE you are helping more Nova Scotians support and understand their own mental health. This helps more Nova Scotians stay out of crisis and out of emergency rooms.
