CMHA Nova Scotia Division Achieves Accreditation from Imagine Canada’s Standards Program
Nov 28, 2024
The Canadian Mental Health Association Nova Scotia Division [CMHA NS Division] is thrilled to announce that it has been accredited under Imagine Canada’s National Standards Program. With this achievement, CMHA Nova Scotia Division joins a community of organizations dedicated to operational excellence.
Imagine Canada has a mission to “strengthen Canadian charities and nonprofits so they can better serve individuals and communities both here and around the world……envisioning (sic) a Canada where thriving communities are fueled by strong nonprofit infrastructure and engagement, and where social, economic, and environmental justice is advanced through collective advocacy and action.”
There are five fundamental standard areas: board governance; financial accountability and transparency; fundraising; staff management; and volunteer involvement.
To achieve accreditation, CMHA Nova Scotia Division’s policies and procedures in the five areas of compliance were evaluated by a group of peers from the charitable sector.
