Mental Health in the Workplace
Workplaces can play an essential part in maintaining positive mental health. A supportive work environment fosters mental health, providing purpose and stability. Companies with high levels of mental health awareness report less absenteeism, higher employee retention and a stronger workforce.
Mental Health in the Workplace provides EMPLOYEES and EMPLOYERS with the tools and resources to successfully establish and maintain a healthy workplace.
NOTE: This session is not a clinical training, but rather an opportunity to raise awareness about mental health and to provide participants with tools and resources.
- Format: Mental Health in the Workplace can be offered in person or virtually.
- Fees: Inquire within.
- Duration: 2 hours.
We can offer a series of in-person interactive modules on mental health based on your training needs.
These include:
Mental Health Awareness: An interactive exercise where participants explore the mental health continuum and develop awareness around their own state of well-being, survival mode, and crisis, as well as things they can do to support their mental health in each state. (30 minutes).
The Determinants of Mental Health: An interactive learning session around the social determinants of mental health, demonstrating the numerous factors that are foundational to our mental health beyond the individual’s own strengths and capacities. This exercise builds understanding and compassion for the complex interplay between social factors and mental health. (30 minutes).
Communication Skills for Psychological Safety: This module supports participants in developing a set of skills they can use to support colleagues experiencing challenges with their mental health. Through trying out various responses, participants are guided to find ways of interacting that feel non-judgemental and compassionate and can help create a workplace culture of psychological safety. (45 minutes).
Burnout, Boundaries, and Self-Care: This module is a combination of PowerPoint presentations and interactive group work. Throughout, participants explore the concept of burnout – what it means and how it occurs – as well as strategies to prevent it, such as boundary setting and self-care. (45 minutes).
