The Canadian Mental Health Association of Nova Scotia is currently looking for a Digital Marketing and Content Assistant and Health Research and Program Developer.
Eligibility: These positions are funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. To be eligible for the position you must qualify for the program. Please do not apply if you do not qualify.
Digital Marketing and Content Assistant – FULL TIME | CONTRACT
General Responsibilities: The Digital Marketing and Content Assistant is responsible for assisting with, creating and distributing digital content on all of websites, including the CMHA Nova Scotia Division website, as well as our Wellness Hub, Maternal Hub and CAST Hub. He/She/They will assist the communications lead in auditing, organizing, creating and uploading digital content as well as content management.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong interest in digital best practices as well experience maintaining and designing digital platforms. The main role of the Digital Marketing and Content Assistant is to assist the Communications lead in the development of a website overhaul launching by September 2021.
Description of Duties:
- Assist in uploading content on to web platforms;
- Assist in auditing, editing and organizing website content;
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise;
- Work with a membership database to ensure the best use of the technology is being utilized;
- Attend relevant team meetings via Microsoft Teams or Zoom; and
- Generate reports using Google analytics to assess the performance of web platforms
Qualifications: The candidate should possess very good written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Analytics. Candidates should also have experience with basic website development, particularly with WordPress, Candidates with some graphic design experience will be viewed favourably. A passion for mental health and wellness would also be viewed favourably. Working Conditions: Virtual – (Individual can work remotely from home anywhere in Nova Scotia)
Reporting To: Erin Christie, Communications, Marketing and Sponsorship Lead
Location: Virtual – Individual can work remotely from home anywhere in Nova Scotia. ( Please Note: Preference will be given to applicants residing in Colchester East-Hants )
Length of Contract: 8 weeks | Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Wages: $18 per hour
(Office Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. | MONDAY – FRIDAY)

Health Research and Program Developer – FULL TIME | CONTRACT
General Responsibilities: The Health Research and Program Developer will collaborate with project lead to develop a comprehensive and accessible Resilience and Mental Wellness Toolkit for Pictou County, Nova Scotia. The Resilience Toolkit will be responsive to community needs assessment and will include community resources and evidence-based skills for developing resilience.
Description of Duties:
- Research existing materials, programs and evidence and prepare suggested Toolkit content, objectives, and outcomes.
- Collect and present material in a concise, comprehensible, accessible toolkit.
- Develop comprehensive list of training, programs and services in Pictou County to include with resources for toolkit.
- Edit toolkit to incorporate feedback
- Develop final copy of Pictou County Mental Wellness and Resilience Toolkit.
Qualifications:
- Education in community development, health promotion, adult education or relevant fields. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Understanding of impacts of social determinants of health on population mental health and dedication to broadening access to available resources and mental health education.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong researched based background
- Knowledge of community based mental health issues considered an asset
- Critical and analytical thinking skills
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience in collaborative work practices
