Emily Dorey ( She, Her, Elle) | Peer Support Coordinator
Emily Dorey is a passionate advocate for mental health and social justice. Originally from Hampton, New Brunswick, Emily graduated from St. Thomas University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications & Public Policy and English Literature. She went on to study at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she obtained her Master of Arts degree in Social Justice and Community Engagement in 2019. Since then, she has worked in the mental health and community impact sectors and is thrilled to continue to do so at CMHA.
In her role as Peer Support Coordinator, Emily is responsible for overseeing the Peer Incubator Hub and Thrive Learning Centre as part of the Education and Training team, including building relationships across the province to promote peer support services for Nova Scotians. She is excited about creating more opportunities for individuals to access support and care on their mental health journeys.
When she is not working, Emily can usually be found curled up with a good book and a cup of tea, crocheting, or watching Formula 1 racing. She loves hiking and camping with her husband, as well as spending quality time with family and friends.
