Call for Facilitators: Lead a THRIVE Workshop This Fall

Share Your Story. Support Others. Help Communities Thrive.

Do you have a story, skill, or life lesson that could help someone else feel seen, understood, or empowered? If so, we want to hear from you.

CMHA Nova Scotia’s Education Team is currently inviting proposals from individuals with lived experience to lead THRIVE workshops this fall. These virtual, community-focused sessions are designed to support mental wellness, self-awareness, and personal growth.

Who Can Be a THRIVE Facilitator?

You don’t need to be a professional. Anyone with lived experience or first voice can be a THRIVE facilitator.  Some of our past facilitators have included stay-at-home parents, nonprofit staff, teachers, and post-secondary students. What they all shared was empathy, insight, and a willingness to use their lived experience to support others.

If you’ve navigated grief, rebuilt your confidence, learned to set healthy boundaries, or found positive strategies for managing your mental health, your story could be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

Your experience matters — and it could make a real difference.

What Makes a Great Workshop?

Past THRIVE workshops have covered a range of topics, including:

We welcome diverse ideas that promote positive mental health, personal well-being and community connection.

What Is THRIVE?

THRIVE is a low-barrier, fully virtual learning centre that offers free, non-clinical workshops on mental health and wellness. There’s no referral or diagnosis required, and no prior teaching experience needed. Just a desire to share and connect.

Our goal is to build inclusive spaces where people can learn from one another, support their own mental wellness, and contribute to stronger, healthier communities.

Ready to Lead a Session?

If you have a workshop idea or simply want to explore what it means to be a facilitator, we’d love to hear from you.

📩 Submit your proposal here.

Let’s create welcoming, empowering spaces together—where lived experience becomes a powerful tool for healing, growth, and connection.
