Aaron Goodwin was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder at the age of 17. When he started going to Laing House as a member at the age of 19, he realized he had an aptitude for peer support and had a strong urge to give back. He worked as a patients rights advisor and was a founding member of the MHCC youth council and served with that council from 2009 to 2014. In 2010 he returned to work at Laing House as a peer support worker. He also coordinated the Youth Speak program, educating students across the province about mental health. Aaron joined the CAST team in September 2016 and has been working toward increasing suicide awareness for youth across the province. He lives in Dartmouth with his wife Kelly and their dog Brody.
